A US Veterans Affairs study (Cadnum et al., AJIC 2020) used diluted sodium hypochlorite via electrostatic spray to rapidly decontaminate wheelchairs, portable equipment and waiting-room chairs, eliminating the MS2 bacteriophage. An operating-room study using a 40-micron quat electrostatic spray significantly reduced colony counts (CFU) with effects lasting about 5 days.
