Based on municipal practice: Step 1 — high-temperature pressure rinse up to 200°F (~93°C; some programs 220°F/104°C) to inactivate surface viruses/bacteria and remove visible organic soil; Step 2 — apply a sodium hypochlorite (bleach) disinfectant, dwell 10 minutes, then cold rinse to destroy pathogens microscopically; Step 3 — apply an antimicrobial shield (e.g. MonoFoil) lasting weeks to months by use frequency, re-applied in routine maintenance.
